Examiner's Guidelines
- The written exam will be online computer based.
- There will be multiple choice single response questions, true and false questions, fill in the blanks questions and multiple choice multiple response questions.
- There will be 50 multiple choice questions with single response with 1 marks each.
- There will be 20 True/False questions of 1 marks each.
- There will be 10 fill in the blanks questions of 1 marks each.
- There will be 20 multiple choice and multiple response questions of 1 marks each.
- In this there will be two paragraph related to critical care case, and 5 questions will be asked based on the paragraph.
- Total marks 100 There will be no negative markings Candidates should score 50% marks for passing theory examination.
- Duration will be 3 hours.
- Candidate will appear for practical examination once they clear theory examination
- The oral examination will be conducted over zoom meeting and questions will be presented by two examiners.
- Once the candidate enters the examination link he/she should present the hall ticket and identity card to the examiner.
- Each candidate will be examined for minimum 2 hours.
- Examiner can ask more questions to know depth of knowledge.
- The examination consists of 2 - case scenarios and 5 Skill stations Each case scenarios will carry 25 marks and the 5 skill stations will carry 10 marks each
- There will be two ICU cases scenarios with preselected questionaries’ with 25 marks each (Minimum duration 30 minutes each)
- Total marks will be 100 Candidates should score 50% marks for passing practical examination.
- Case Scenario 1 (25 marks)
- The cases would be shared over zoom and consists of critical case scenarios.
- Candidates have to go through the case scenario for 2 minutes.
- There may be vitals and investigation details. If candidate want extra time to analyse, he / she have to request to examiner.
- Candidate will be interviewed by examiner with pre-selected questionnaires.
- Relevant investigation will be shared and candidates have to answer accordingly.
- There will be basic and complex questions as case progresses.
- Candidate also evaluated for communication and prognostication skills.
- Candidate will be evaluated for any major risk/harm to the patient while illustrating the management.
- Case Scenario 2 (25marks)
- The cases would be shared over zoom and consists of critical case scenarios.
- Candidates have to go through the case scenario for 2 minutes.
- There may be vitals and investigation details.
- Candidate will be interviewed by examiner with pre-selected questionnaires.
- Relevant investigation will be shared and candidates have to answer accordingly.
- There will be basic and complex questions as case progresses.
- Candidate also evaluated for communication and prognostication skills.
- Candidate will be evaluated for any major risk/harm to the patient while illustrating the management.
- Candidate have to pass both cases separately means should score 50% marks for passing each case examination. We cannot combine addition of both cases marks to pass.
- Skill Stations (50 mark)
- The Skill stations are also presented over zoom on power point slides and will have 5 stations .
- Each station carries 10 marks.
- In this session candidates have to score 50% marks of overall skill station for passing second session examination
- First station: Basic and advanced skills ( BLS, ACLS, Airway and Bedside Haemodynamic Monitoring).
- Second Station: Laboratory Reports interpretation( ABG, Biochemistry, Haematology and Microbiology).
- Third station: Radiology interpretation( X-ray, CT scan, MRI scan, Ultrasound, ECG and 2D Echocardiography).
- Fourth station: Ventilator setting and Graphics.
- Fifth Station: Drugs & Communication.
